This has been one really busy week! As a result we did not get a Hypnosis, Etc. episode up this week, so just in case you folks are looking for a new hypnosis video to watch, I decided that I’d offer this to you. I think you will find it very interesting and useful.
Celeste has just completed her first client testimonial videos with the help of her husband, Christopher. This project looks really great, and it looks to me like it will really help her build her practice and hypnosis school.
So with that in mind, here are Parts 1 and 2 of her interview with a successful smoking cessation client.

 I just got off the telephone with Dr. Damon, Pres. of the National Guild of Hypnotists and he has agreed to do a Meet the Pros interview/seminar with me! This is a very unusual opportunity because you are all invited to join us for the call and ask questions about the NGH, it’s history, the upcoming convention, and the future of hypnosis!

I start this episode of Hypnosis, Etc, professional hypnotherapy training series in my business office where I make all of my podcasts, but you get to see it from a different perspective.
Next, we check out the IT (Internet Technology) area where we have Taylor working on some Internet marketing projects. He and Chad (who is working the video camera) work full time on our websites. You will also see another workstation where our graphics and video editing tech works, but the chair is empty right now because we recently lost that technician. Hopefully, we will have that position filled again real soon.
Then we proceed through the Banyan Hypnosis Center, and you get to have a look at the General Manager’s office, who many of you know is Maureen Banyan, my wife, (who is the real brains behind all of this). She does all of the business stuff like making sure that the bills are getting paid, the taxes are getting paid and that we keep the money flowing in. (She also makes sure I don’t spend too much time just goofing off.)
We continue on with the tour and you see Danny’s office. He is our Affiliate & Customer Service Manager. You will learn how to add an additional stream of income to your practice of hypnotism by recommending books, CDs, DVDs and live courses that we offer.
Next, I show you how our production and shipping area is set up. This is where we produce our hypnosis training materials, on CDs, DVDs. A good example of these training materials that we produce are our 5-PATH® DVD Distance Learning Course, and our 7th Path Self-Hypnosis® course.
We also receive products here that we market for other hypnosis professionals such as Ron Elsinger’s HypnoAnesthesia Pain Management Course. We ship products out every day Monday through Friday.
If you have a quality hypnosis book, CD, DVD or course that you would like us to consider, please let us know, and perhaps we can help you out. A good example of this was brought up by Celeste as she talks about the Quantum Referral Marketing course she recently purchased from us.
Finally, I wrap it up with a visit to our classroom and I show off some of the audio/video equipment as well as the system that we use to stream our courses over the Internet. In case you are wondering about how we do that, I have a blog post about that for you. We have updated the system a bit since I wrote that article, but it will give you a pretty good idea of what it takes to do it well.
To wrap it up, I finally get to answer a hypnosis question from one of our viewers. Whew, I thought that we would never get around to doing that. I talk about what it means if a client is snoring during a session, and we also talk about what it means if a client reports that she saw a lot of vivid colors during her session.

I have just posted two news articles of interest to hypnosis professionals. You can find them in the news area on www.Hypnosis.ORG.
The first hypnosis related article is about Hypnosis Before Breast Cancer Surgery. The hypnosis news report discusses how hypnosis can help women undergoing surgery for breast cancer. Learn about how a brief hypnosis session before entering the operating room required less anesthesia and pain medication during surgery, and reported less pain, nausea, fatigue, and discomfort after surgery than women who did not receive hypnosis. According to the article, the overall cost of surgery was also significantly less for women undergoing hypnosis.
The second article about hypnosis is covers a court finding that Hypnotically Enhanced Testimony Is “Unfair”. In this case a body has never been found, but in an individual was convicted of murder, largely on the strength of testimony given by “hypnosis-aided witnesses”. Now that testimony cannot be used. Read what happens now…

Here are some of the secrets to setting up a hypnosis office, that I discuss in this hypnosis training video:

Place your desk facing the door with your hypnosis client’s back toward the office door.

Place your hypnosis certificates (and related degrees, if you have them) behind where you sit at your desk.

Learn a simple technique that you can use to set up a “halo of authority” and make your clients more suggestible and more hypnotizable.

How to (ethically) place hypnosis and related books in your office to add authority to what you are saying, and avoid problems with some “conservative” clients.

How to select the best recliner for conducting hypnosis sessions that will last and fit just about any size client.

How to select the right hypno-pillow for your clients, which is important if you do emotional release work.

I discuss video recording of your hypnosis sessions, and how to do so with two video cameras. I also discuss some reasons why you should start doing this now.
- I share a brief overview of how to prepare your hypnosis clients for the hypnotherapy part of the session.

Hypnosis: What is it?
Just in case you want to think about hypnosis this weekend, here is something to think about.
People who use hypnosis professionally vary in their definition about what hypnosis really is. I set up a “What is hypnosis?” page on www.Hypnosis.ORG help add to the discussion, and perhaps this will lead to a more general agreement about what hypnosis really is.
I also placed some links to other definitions of hypnosis on that page. Have a look, and if you like, leave some suggestions for other definitions of hypnosis, or links to sites that have authoritative definitions of hypnosis in the comments section below.
