Thanks Brenda & Cal! As always.
Brenda, I love "dance" metaphor! I use the GPS metaphor with all clients.....but will now add in the dance metaphor as well! Love it!
And Cal......it takes only one client to change a lightbulb....as long as they REALLY want to change the bulb!
Exactly Karen, they've got to really want to make the change! I think it's so important to let clients know that we know just what to do to help if they need it in the future. Since recording this episode, I've done that with a couple of clients, and we were able to go deeper into some of the issues that were causing problems because they'd been through the process already and seen how helpful it is, they trusted me to be able to help guide them, and they trusted themselves a bit more than the first time around to follow through. 🙂
Excellent podcast, thank you Brenda & Cal. Such a worthwhile and interesting topic too!
A couple of things came to mind as I watched.
Firstly, isn't it amazing that we wouldn't expect that same situation with anon if she was a doctor and had treated the client (patient) for something that had reoccurred because of choices she made following that treatment, or if she was an accountant & the client had made lots of good financial decisions while seeing her but then lost money when making different choices afterwards... I'm sure you get my point.
The other thing I thought about was how appropriate the age progression is for future success. Many years ago I was successful in stopping smoking with a hypnotist. It was conducted over 4 weekly sessions and I'll always remember him telling me that I must agree to commit to the full program & that the final session was perhaps the most important, because it would ensure I remained smoke free for the rest of my life. There was no AR involved in the sessions, but I realise now that it was a pretty powerful pre & post hypnotic suggestion.
I am amazed at the finding of some further insights using age progression Brenda. Thank you for pointing that out. I look forward to discovering it too.
Once again, thank you for all you do.
Susan

Hi Karen - It is always great to hear from you.
You got that right, just one client, and just like when you work with your client, that client must really want to make the change!
Keep up the great work you do,
Cal
