This last weekend I had the great pleasure of reading the original book, the one that started the whole Law of Attraction phenomena, and then inspired The Secret Movie. It is entitled, The Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace D. Wattles, published in 1910!
Wow, I am so glad that I did.It has added greatly to how I want to proceed with this series.
As I read through the book, I made some notes that I am going to share with you today.If you really understand and utilize what I am about to tell you, your practice is just going to grow and grow.But of course, these principles can be used to improve any circumstance, any business or any financial or personal situation.

The Science of Getting Rich: Doing Things in a Certain Way
- Decide what you want.Crystallize how you want your practice to be.
- You must believe:
- There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the Universe.
- A thought, (pressed into) this substance, produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.
- Man can form things in his thought, and by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created
- In order to do this, man must pass from the competitive to the creative mind; he must form a clear mental picture of the things he wants and hold this picture in his thoughts with the fixed PURPOSE to get what he wants, and the unwavering FAITH that he does get what he wants, closing his mind against all that may tend to shake his purpose, dim his vision, or quench his faith.
- Never look at the visible supply; look always at the limitless riches in Formless Substance, and KNOW that they are coming to you as fast as you can receive and use them.
- Always think what you want to think (which is the) TRUTH, regardless of appearances.
- In dealing with others, always give to everyone more than you take from them.
- Impress your wants upon Substance using a coherent statement. Know what you want and keep it passionately in your thoughts (using coherent statements).
- Focus your will on yourself, and not others, for it is by focusing on yourself that you will receive the most benefit.(Don’t try and use this principle to make others do your bidding.)
- God wants to experience success and all good things through us.
- The Law of Gratitude: Thankful praise to the Supreme is a liberation or expenditure of force; it cannot fail to reach that to which it is addressed, and the reaction is an instantaneous movement towards you.
- We can do the most for humanity when we are rich. God wants us to be rich.
