Hypnosis, Etc. Podcast #68: Free Hypnosis Training Topic “Ten Keys to Doing Direct Suggestion Hypnosis Right” Part 4

Celeste and I continue the new hypnosis training series, the Ten Keys to Doing Direct Suggestion Hypnosis Right, with Part 4!

I talk a little about my mysterious “weight release” program that fits right in with any kind of hypnosis program for weight loss. For more information email us.

On this episode of Hypnosis, Etc., we do a quick review of the Ten Keys for Doing Direct Suggestion Hypnosis Right, which we have discussed in Parts 1, 2 & 3. Then we get right into the new “Keys”.

In this we cover these important “Keys”:

  1. Use lots of lots of repetition in your sessions.
  2. Use compounding of suggestions.

Finally, I answer the question, What is the difference between ‘hypnosis’ and meditation’?” Most hypnotists do not really understand the difference between these two things. I do my best to explain what I think the difference is. Have a look/listen and see what you think. I also think that hypnotists and NLP practitioners commonly use the term, “trance” to indicate hypnosis. I explain why that is probably not the best thing to do.

Before you go, let me make one more recommendation. If you need a hypnosis script or session on audio download and you can’t find it on www.Hypnosis.ORG, then we recommend that you go to this hypnosis site.

    Hi Cal,

I’m not trying to be harsh or anything, but if you teach others to lose weight and all that, why is it that you yourself are overweight?? Is it perhaps by choice or do you just feel comfortable with your weight and its not a problem..i’m just curious and not trying to make you feel bad or take a stab at you.

    Peace, gab.

    Hello Gab,

I have been challenged with being overweight all my life. When I got into the profession of hypnosis I weighed 296 pounds! As I learned about hypnosis and how it can affect emotions and behavior I began to lose weight, but my weight kept bouncing up and down between a 40 and 50 pound weight loss. In 2007, I made a commitment to lose weight for the National Guild of Hypnotists meeting in August. I lost 35 pounds and felt better. Everyone was excited for me and I was bound and determined to continue what I was doing.

However, as I continued to maintain my weight loss and then to work on losing more weight, it seemed like my body just wouldn’t let me do it. I could eat and exercise exactly like I should and lose nothing! And, to make things worse, if I ate in any way that was not on my “diet” (and I have tried many) I’d gain a lot of weight, very quickly. It was really incredible how fast I could gain the weight back. I could gain 15 to 20 pounds in two to three weeks, just eating in a way that most people would call “normal”. I experienced this while I was teaching in Singapore last December.

I noticed that as I continued to work on losing weight, I only felt worse and worse. I was becoming very tired, and as a result, I started canceling training programs that I usually do each year (i.e., Singapore and the NGH) and I refused to take on any more training courses abroad, such as the one I had hoped to do in the UK.

This was frustrating and depressing! I really wanted to be a model for others. I know that I am not the only one in this condition, given the number of overweight hypnotists at professional gatherings each year. Then I figured out something really, really important!

Then I heard about how toxins can build up from eating, drinking and breathing in our modern society, and that these toxins can cause you to get sick or to gain weight. For many, or even most people who have trouble losing weight, this can be the key to weight loss, when they are doing other things right. I learned that your body will even drive you to eat so that it can create fat, to draw these toxins away from your vital organs. The whole thing made sense to me. If you or your clients have had trouble losing weight, even when you have done the emotional work, insight work and hypnotic direct suggestion work, …then to be successful, a significant amount of the toxins need to be cleansed out of your body.

With this new understanding, my mind opened up. I figured I’d give it a try. I found a no-nonsense, healthy way to do this, and go on the program. In the first three days I “released” an incredible amount of weight in a short period of time, and on the 4th day, I started to feel better than I had in a LONG time. That is when I got REALLY excited about what I am doing. I know that everyone would benefit from it (especially hypnosis professionals!).

I’ll be writing more about this way of looking at weight loss very soon.
If you or anyone else would like to have more information, you can email me direction at CalBanyan@HypnosisCenter.com.

    :-D
