I am very excited to announce to that we have a new hypnosis podcasting program that I believe you will enjoy and find very useful. And it starts today!
This podcast is in addition to the already very popular audio programs that we have been producing and are currently available under the title of the Meet the Pros Audio Program, on our www.BanyanHypnosisMall.com website. The Meet the Pros Audio Program is a series of mini seminars that I produce with interesting and informative trainers in the field of hypnosis, but is not being produced as regularly as this podcasting program will be.
So, starting today, the hypnosis podcasting series has begun. These fun and informative hypnosis podcasts are scheduled to be broadcasted each Friday!

Cal Banyan’s Hypnosis Training Podcast #1 (right-click and save as…)
Hi everyone. Here is a quick link to a news piece on how stress reduction can help women to get pregnant. They don’t mention hypnosis, but it is obvious to me that hypnosis will do it as well as the congnitive therapy promoted in the article. Actually, I beleive that 5-PATH® hypnotherapy would work much better.
This would be a great service to provide in your community, and a great fit for anyone doing HypnoBirthing®, or other natural childbirth procedure using hypnosis!

It has been a while since I wrote on this topic. But today I received an email from a very well known writer and trainer on the subject of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. In that email he used the phrase “lay hypnosis professional.” I simply could not believe it.
I am placing my response to my friend here because I want all hypnotherapists and hypnotists who have taken the time, and put the effort into becoming properly trained and certified to simply not allow this label to be applied to you.
The following is my response…
In your email you stumbled upon one of my “pet peeves.” So please allow me to vent for a moment. What follows is said with respect…
I want to strongly encourage you to stop using the phrase “lay hypnosis professional.” It is an oxymoron. The term “lay” means untrained or nonprofessional. Your use of the word “professional” in the phrase implies a high degree of training and professionalism, hence the oxymoron.
I know that it seems trivial to some, but letting the other professions press upon us the term “lay” anything (hypnotist or hypnotherapist) is in my mind much worse than accepting the title of “Hypnotist” over the title of “Hypnotherapist.” [The individual to whom I am writing loathes the use of the title of “Hypnotist” and much prefers the term “Hypnotherapist.”]

Well, I am glad to get that off my chest.

I hope that everyone has had the opportunity to check out the teleseminar that I did with Elson Eldridge of the NGH. Since then, I’ve received a couple of emails asking me if there was any way that they could get some kind of discount on the Week of Power Advanced Hypnosis Certification Course at the NGH Convention this year in August? Well, at first I thought, the convention is the NGH’s show and I am unable to directly set up any kind of discount for early registration for my course. The most useful information I received tonight was hearing how important it is to get to the root emotion behind a behavior. The thing that meant a lot to me was the idea that there can be a place to bring your concerns and questions and get definitive answers and support. I’m new to this field and sincerely want to help people reach goals in their life that they are having trouble accomplishing on their own, especially to stop smoking. My original training was focused on smoking cessation and though it included direct and indirect suggestions, anchoring, parts therapy, and other features I have discovered over my short career it just isn’t enough for all clients. I feel as though I’ve had some of the most challenging clients with varied results and have not had many places to turn for help and answers. I quickly realized I needed to learn and understand more and have enrolled in classes and even begun an NLP class, but I still feel insecure about tackling anything outside of smoking secession. It was so nice to hear from people [Cal’s grads] that feel they have the necessary skills and confidence to address any issue that crosses their path. I would love to have that feeling. Thank you.

Well, I know that it has been a while since I wrote. It is because I have been really, really busy. We are almost completely moved in to our new center in Tustin, California, and on Friday I will wrap up our first NGH Hypnotherapy Certification Course, with 5-PATH™ and 7th Path Self-Hypnosis®. I’ll post a class photo in a few days. I will also start seeing clients on Monday. It is going to be really great to get back into the “old groove” so to speak.
Now on to the main reason for this post; just before this certification course started, I participated in one of the NGH Teleseminar Programs. It was all about 5-PATH™, and it turned out better than I expected! (Even if I do say so myself.)
