Halloween on www.Hypnosis.ORG?

I’d like your opinion about something.

I think it is fun, but maybe it hurts my website?

What I’d like to know is, should I continue to use a holiday theme on my www.Hypnosis.ORG website? I just tried doing this for upcoming Halloween!

Google often changes it’s logo to match holidays and season changes. Maybe I should do the same? If this is a good idea, maybe we should all consider doing this kind of marketing approach.

Have a look and let me know what you think.

I suppose what I’d like to know is, if you knew that the site did this kind of thing, would it make visiting the site more enjoyable?

Hi Cal,
Please don’t change it, yours is so professional and if a new person visited your site and saw all the gimmicks they would just go somewhere else, maybe not take it seriously, without finding out about all the wonderful training you offer and they wouln’t know what they were missing out on..

I haven’t got a web-site yet but when I have I would want it to be as inviting as yours is.So please Cal no father Christmas’s please this year.

Maybe I’m getting to old so I will look forward to see what others think.

best regards

Janet

Janet – Thanks for your input. So far the comments say, don’t do the holiday theme changes. Cal

Hmmm, I’m thinking about what I should do for Thanksgivings Day. Any suggestions? Pilgrims? Turkeys?

Mr. Cal Banyan,

The use of holiday themed graphics can indeed spruce up a website if:

the site is meant to be fun and inviting and the graphics are designed to fit the overall theme of the site.

Adding clipart or “canned graphics” helps no one and sites that refer to serious subjects are best avoiding them entirely.

Just look at your competitors’ sites that use clipart and compare them to those who were professionally designed.

The difference is stark.

Thanks Ernet for your input. I agree, except I don’t think that any of my “competitors” are using a holiday theme. If you know of one, let me know, I’d love to check it out.
