Hi Steve,

That is a good question, and there is no simple answer. Generally the hypnotist talks with the parent/guardian and discusses what will be worked on. The emphasis is on any emotional issues that the adult may have, i.e., too much fear, anger, guilt and such. Then we can start from there, unless something else comes up that would indicate that something else needs to be looked at.

Steve, I want to thank you for supporting this site and our other site, www.OurHypnoSpace.com. Your participation IS appreciated!

Just want to say: I studied this program a while ago and recently used the skills from it with the youngest client I've had so far (6 yrs), and just got great feedback from the parent. The techniques and tips that Kathleen provided on the DVD worked really well and just as importantly gave me a lot of confidence because I had never worked with someone that young (I had let the parents know that beforehand).

Plus it was so much fun working with the little guy! He loved space and rockets and really got into the "Blast-Off" induction. He did eyelid catalepsy and he was practically bouncing out of the chair trying to open his eyelids. I had to stop myself from laughing because it was too cute.

Thanks Cal and Kathleen for the great information!

PS. Question for a future podcast - you mention that it can be good for the parents to go thru sessions in parallel with the child. What sort of approach would be used? ie. doing affect-bridge on "focus on that feeling you get when your child [does whatever]..."?
