Today I met with Jerrie Johnson, the President of the NHFC and I have to say that I was impressed. She told me the story of how the grassroots organization developed right here in Minnesota, and is now growing nationally. And, I want to help her!
I first heard about the NHFC when I read an article about how the organization was helping people to take back control over who they could choose to see for their own health care. Did you know that in many states you are restricted as to who you can legally see to help you to overcome your problems or illness. In some states, you may not be able to choose to see a chiropractor, massage therapist, hypnotist, acupuncturist, homeopath, and other helping professionals? Why? Because in some states offering such services can lead to arrest with the charge of practicing either psychology or medicine without a license. Even doctors and psychologists can lose their licenses for practicing these healing arts in some states. What ever happened to the rights of “life, liberty and pursuit of happiness”? What happened to freedom of choice?
The NHFC is changing this very big problem one state at a time, through helping people in those states by developing leaders who know how to work within the system to pass laws that assure your right to choose.
When I first heard about this organization I contacted the National Guild of Hypnotists. I wanted to hear what Dr. Damon the President of the organization, and Scot Giles the one person who knows more about the legal side of the practice of hypnosis than anyone else I know. They told me that the NHFC was doing a lot to help complimentary and alternative medicine practitioners to be able to practice. I instantly decided that we were natural allies, and contacted Jerrie Johnson.
Today, Maureen and I both became members of the national and state organization. I want to encourage all hypnotists who want to ensure their right to practice, as well as everyone who would like to ensure their right to choose hypnosis to join the NHFC.
Here is how you can learn more about them and become a member of this important group. Go to their website at www.nationalhealthfreedom.org. Tell them Cal sent you.
I’ll see you at their national conference on October 28th through the 30th, 2005 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
